I began my journey as a public high school biology teacher, eventually discovering the power of art as a teaching tool. In 2018, while traveling in Latin America, I transitioned to teaching science classes online through Outschool, combining art and biology to spark curiosity in young learners. This creative educational approach evolved into Biosomnium—“dream of life”—an artistic education philosophy inspired by the natural world. My courses, including Visual Paleontology, Visual Zoology, and Creatures of Biosomnium, fall under this umbrella, allowing students to explore science through artistic expression.
In 2022, I launched the Creative Curriculum Cooperative, a community of educators dedicated to integrating creative approaches into academic subjects. Together, we create inclusive, safe spaces for neurodiverse learners worldwide, fostering curiosity and respect for all identities and backgrounds. I also design educational merchandise featuring my artwork, bringing these “dreams of life” into everyday inspiration.
